At the 2018 Inkjet Summit, Elizabeth Gooding delivered a keynote presentation. The session discussed the importance of designing workflows that build on key software investments and effective integration to ensure end-to-end workflows meet customer needs, are scalable and achieve production efficiency goals. Elizabeth uses an origami analogy and posits that using the same equipment (origami paper) can deliver significantly different results (dogs, cats, hats).
One key takeaway was that customers buy workflow and she raises the question “Why isn’t there an Alexa for Print?” She encouraged the audience to think about the role of customer experience in the print buying process and the importance of delivering workflows that enhance that experience. Achieving this goal requires a workflow that is designed and not bought, where you determine what works, what doesn’t work and what is missing.
