Data One on the New HP SmartStream Elite-DT Print Server

I  spoke with Laurent Quere of Data One regarding their successful implementation of the HP SmartStream Elite-DT print server which provides native AFP and IPDS capabilities to HP PageWide Presses along with the ability to spool PDF and PostScript seamlessly. Note that when discussing the introduction of the product in the interview I referred to HP SmartStream Elite and forgot to mention the very important “DT” at the end which highlights the focus on Direct Marketing and Transaction Print organizations.

Mixed file capabilities are extremely important in high-volume, hybrid transaction print and direct mail organizations like Data One as Laurent explains during our interview. The Elite-DT was developed by HP in cooperation with TagG Informatique to deliver  a print server that can drive industrial presses using multiple file formats at full speed.
