This week, Steve Welkley, Vice President Production Inkjet Sales with Xerox, shares his perspective on some niche areas of the book publishing sector that he feels are a great fit for inkjet. He highlights opportunities in the production of workbooks and directories with a particular focus on in-plant operations.
Welkley notes a number of drivers that are making inkjet attractive to this market including the need for customization of workbooks at the school district level and the growing level of customization of directories in the healthcare market. He also points out several differences between these niche book markets and the overall book market where inkjet provides benefits to the print organizations as well as to the end consumers of the workbooks and directories.
