We’re Back! Designer’s Guide 2.0 – Video

By Inkjet Insight / Published:

Mary Schilling and I were at thINKforum in Boca Raton last week for the launch of the 2nd edition of The Designer’s Guide to Inkjet. In this video, Mary Schilling discusses the reasons for the update and some of the areas where the 2nd edition gets a bit more technical.

Mary notes that, with high-speed inkjet and design-intensive applications, designers can really throw a monkey wrench into the color management process, even when good standards are communicated. RIPs work with individual elements in a design file so if standards are not consistent throughout the design file, the color won’t be either. She also notes that prepress resources have been reduced or eliminated in many shops making it more difficult to correct files for designers on the fly.

We appreciate the sponsorship of Canon and thINKforum in bringing educational tools to the market. Note that the only mention of Canon equipment is with reference to the actual printing of the guide. That shows true support for the industry as a whole.

Want to get your copy of the Designer’s Guide to Inkjet – 2nd Edition? You may be able to pick one up a free copy at PRINT 18 (find us there and we’ll sign it for you) or visit thINKforum.com to purchase a copy beginning October 1 (but free is better right?).
