Press Release: Canon U.S.A., Inc. announced its latest Océ VarioPrint i-series technology enhancement, which is poised to redefine inkjet expectations by empowering customers to print high-quality graphic arts applications with a large color gamut on a wide range of standard U.S. offset coated media.
Canon is proud to announce the expected release in the first quarter of 2018 of the next generation iQuarius Performance Inks, an ink formula designed to open up graphical applications on U.S. offset coated stock*. This latest update to the Océ VarioPrint i-series platform is positioned to offer new and dynamic possibilities for print service providers looking to explore new business opportunities in the sheetfed inkjet and commercial print markets.
“Throughout our industry, advancements in inkjet technology are evolving quickly and more dramatically than any other platform; and as such, Canon continues to introduce technologies that can meet and adapt to the ever-changing inkjet and graphics arts market demands,” said Toyotsugu Kuwamura, executive vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “By listening to our customers and understanding the shift in industry trends, we recognized there is a growing need for a high-performing ink designed to fit heavy production commercial printers who are looking to take advantage of the benefits of digital inkjet printing. We firmly believe the introduction of the new Océ VarioPrint iQuarius Performance Inks not only addresses those needs, but also cements Canon’s place as a true innovator in the graphic arts space.”
Value Proposition
Along with providing maximum control over ink interaction for reliable and superior output quality, the new iQuarius Performance Inks expands the VarioPrint i-series application range towards high-margin graphical applications on offset coated media. The release of this next-generation ink family is uniquely targeted for those in the graphic arts arena requiring high ink coverage and color gamut on standard U.S. offset coated stock.
Additionally, the announcement of new inks marks the official launch of the “iQuarius Performance Inks” offering. This proprietary ink family consists of the new inks and the currently available, well-proven, and industry-lauded ink set – introduced at GRAPH EXPO 2016. The two inks now support the widest media range on the i-series, including matte, silk and gloss offset coated substrates, along with providing the ability to print on inkjet treated and uncoated media. Together with other Océ iQuarius technologies, Canon customers can look forward to benefiting from superior inkjet sheetfed application flexibility, costs, and productivity.
