The advent of a new year

By Elizabeth Gooding / Published:

In addition to the religious context of the word advent, it generally means “the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event” per Google. For example “the advent of television” or “the advent of inkjet.” The team at Druckerei Kyburz AG have shared an example that covers both meanings. It is their newest inkjet application, an Advent Calendar prepared for the holiday season using the Canon ProStream 1800 press with the Autosplicer CDN-770 and DFA-560 by Contiweb plus I-WEB Inline-Webfinishing. The calendar measures 220 x 300 mm, is printed on 120 g/m2 recycled paper and includes a donation slip. Druckerei Kyburz describes the application as “a great success all-around and a perfect showcase for today’s possibilities in digital print.”

The video below shows the full process running inline.
