Inkjet Tip of the Week

Shop for Inkjet Cost Savings Features

By Inkjet Insight / Published:

Some devices have valuable cost saving features. Here are a few to look out for:

  • Roll fed devices that can print during the ramp up to full speed. For those that can’t compare the amount of paper wasted before printing begins.
  • Ink recirculation in print heads to reduce the amount of ink used to keep heads from drying out.
  • Head capping of CMY print heads when printing mono jobs to further reduce ink consumption.
  • Automatic profile adjustment at multiple settings (e.g. High, Medium, Low) to limit ink to meet relative quality expectations.

  1. Using low TAC and high GCR settings for device profiles, while maintaining a CMYK gamut which covers the simulation CMYK profile chosen, in order to minimise ink usage.
